August 16, 2017

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Clearwater Compliance, a top-ranked, award-winning provider of healthcare cybersecurity and compliance solutions, today announced it has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States by making the 2017 Inc. 5000 List at #2209 with three-year accumulated growth of 165 percent. Clearwater also was ranked No. 23 in Nashville and No.178 in the healthcare industry. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment— its independent small and midsized businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.

Founded in 2010, Clearwater has seen dramatic growth over the past three years. Clearwater works with hospitals and health systems of all sizes including over 40 of the top Integrated Delivery Networks in the country. Clearwater’s growth strategy is based on offering both cybersecurity software as well as professional services, helping its healthcare organization clients not only defend against cyber threats today, but also helping them to build capabilities for self-sufficiency to defend against future cyber threats. Fueling Clearwater’s growth is an expanding list of world-class endorsements and partnerships, including its 2014 exclusive endorsement by the American Hospital Association. This month, Clearwater announced additional endorsements by state hospital associations that add more than 200 hospitals in Georgia and Montana. Clearwater’s recent partnerships include Intel, as well as being selected to join the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) National Cybersecurity Excellence Partnership (NCEP) at NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE). Clearwater’s increasing roster of clients includes hundreds of hospitals and health systems, as well as Fortune 100 organizations and federal government institutions.

“Inclusion in the Inc. 5000 List is a significant milestone for all Clearwater colleagues and speaks to how Clearwater’s cybersecurity solutions are creating value for hospital leaders,” said Bob Chaput, CEO of Clearwater Compliance. “With the threat landscape becoming more complex than ever for hospitals, Clearwater is experiencing unprecedented growth with double digit new client wins, expanded contracts and a strong momentum of new partnerships and endorsements. Hospital C-suite executives need to be on top of evolving risks to patient information and patient safety and they are looking to Clearwater to best protect their businesses and their patients. Clearwater’s success has resulted in doubling the number of employees over the same three-year time period.”

The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year average growth of 481%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $206 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 619,500 jobs over the past three years. Methodology

The 2017 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2013 to 2016. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2013. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2016. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2013 is $100,000; the minimum for 2016 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
