HIPAA Security Rule NPRM: What to Know & What to Do

With the recent announcement of proposed changes to the HIPAA Security Rule, the U.S. Department Health and Human Services (HHS) has signaled a desire to strengthen the cybersecurity practices of regulated entities by updating the Rule’s standards to better address ever-increasing cybersecurity threats to the healthcare sector.

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) states that the proposed standards and implementation specifications in the updated Security Rule take into account not only those promulgated by NIST, but also guidelines, best practices, methodologies, processes, and procedures published by CISA, the HHS 405(d) program, CMS, the TEFCA framework, State governments, and other entities.

During this on-demand webinar, Clearwater experts Andrew Mahler and Dave Bailey cover the key things to know about the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) and share guidance on what to do at this stage in the process.
