Andrew Mahler, JD, CIPP/US, AIGP, CHC, CHPC, CHRC is the Vice President of Privacy and Compliance Services at Clearwater, where he leads the development and delivery of privacy, compliance, and audit services. Andrew is a seasoned leader in data protection, regulatory affairs, compliance, and risk management, bringing over 15 years of experience in enforcement, consulting, and operational leadership across federal, state, and private sectors.
Prior to joining Clearwater, Andrew served as a HIPAA and Civil Rights Investigator with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), and in Chief Privacy and Research Compliance Officer roles for large health systems, academic medical centers, and universities.
Andrew holds a Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University School of Law and holds the CIPP/US, AIGP, CHC, CHRC, and CHPC certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professions (IAPP) and the Compliance Certification Board (CCB/HCCA). Andrew has developed business and law courses and is a sought-after speaker, educator, and thought leader, with numerous publications and presentations on compliance, privacy, and cybersecurity.
Andrew is an active member with the Health Care Compliance Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association, and is passionate about mentoring future professionals and advancing the field of compliance and data protection through collaboration and education.
