Walter Zuniga, CISSP, CISA, CIPP-US, is Clearwater’s VP of Consulting, bringing Clearwater customers deep technical expertise and business industry knowledge. He has spent over 20 years advising local, national, and multi-national clients on cybersecurity, IT audits, and privacy needs. Walter applies deep technical expertise and industry knowledge to help organizations address information and technology risk challenges, including information security assessments, regulatory audits, HIPAA/HITECH reviews, SSAE16 readiness, IT SOX, and ERP security reviews.
Before Clearwater, Walter founded Backbone Consultants, later acquired by CynergisTek, and was Enterprise Risk Manager for Deloitte.
Walter holds a Master’s in System Software (MSS) from the University of Saint Thomas and a Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering from Villarreal University in Lima, Peru. He is also a certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
