John Howlett joined Clearwater as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in April 2019. He leads the company’s brand development and demand generation efforts, including digital platforms, media and analyst relations, industry events and sponsorships, and customer engagement programs.
Throughout his nearly 25-year B2B marketing and communications career, Mr. Howlett has developed a strong track record of helping enterprise software and service providers elevate their market profile and achieve rapid growth. Before joining Clearwater, he served as Vice President of Marketing for Kaufman Hall, a performance management solutions provider to hospitals and health systems that grew revenue by more than 400 percent during his tenure. As Director of Marketing Strategy for Aon’s Risk Solutions business unit, Mr. Howlett worked with practice groups and field marketing teams to develop and execute campaigns that helped drive record organic growth for the insurance broker and risk consultant. As a public relations consultant, he began his career advising best-of-breed technology providers on communications strategies to build awareness and connect with partners and prospects.
Mr. Howlett earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and English from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from DePaul University.
