Overview

Healthcare organizations’ information systems are under attack like never before, as bad actors seek to capitalize on their unique vulnerabilities.

At the same time, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) continues to enforce HIPAA requirements and ensure the industry takes necessary steps to secure electronic protected health information (ePHI). In early 2024, OCR announced the return of random HIPAA audits.

Research shows that 89% of ePHI-related enforcement actions by OCR resulted from a failure to conduct a risk analysis properly.

Clearwater’s complimentary educational series, OCR-Quality Risk Analysis Working Lab, is back. It is designed to help you build your risk analysis knowledge and skills and eliminate the guesswork of OCR’s criteria to minimize cyber risk exposures.

Over a period of five sessions, our faculty experts will guide you through interactive, hands-on sessions utilizing Clearwater’s OCR-Quality Risk Analysis software IRM|Analysis®.

The Clearwater methodology and access to the IRM|Analysis software will assist you in:

  • Creating a thorough information system inventory and identify / group all systems that create, receive, maintain, or transmit ePHI
  • Identifying, for each system, unique threats and vulnerabilities requiring risk analysis
  • Completing risk analysis by confidently assessing the likelihood of a threat exploiting a vulnerability and the impact (harm/loss) was that exploit to occur
  • Producing the detailed risk register required in performing a comprehensive, bona fide risk analysis
  • Meeting the increasingly more stringent “standard of care” required by OCR to demonstrate your HIPAA Security Rule risk analysis and risk management program meets/exceeds OCR standards

Attendees will have access to Clearwater’s IRM|Analysis software and receive the following:

  • All course materials
  • Supplemental materials
  • Access to recorded versions
  • Certificate of attendance for each session (attendance required)
  • Free subscription to IRM|Analysis for ~30-days
